Deleting your account
Broadside: Blackpowder & Iron is made by Brad Gehrke. You can delete your account and the data held against it at any time, and you do not need to ask anyone's permission.
The fastest way — from inside the game
1. Open the ledger. 2. Choose to strike your name. 3. Type the confirmation it asks for.
It is not a hidden setting, and it takes effect straight away.
If you cannot open the game
Write to support@broadside.au from the email address you signed in with, and ask for your account to be deleted. That is a person reading your message, not a ticket system. If you write from a different address you will be asked for something that shows the account is yours, because an account anyone can delete by email is not safe.
What happens, and when
- Immediately — you can no longer sign in, your ship leaves every raid pool, and your captain's name is replaced everywhere it appeared.
- Within 14 days — the duels you appeared in, in other players' histories, age out normally.
- Then — your row is removed for real.
What is deleted
Your account and sign-in identity, your captain and ship names, your base, fleet, resources and progress, your duel and raid history, and the crash and diagnostic reports tied to you.
What is kept, and why
Two honest caveats, the same two the Privacy Policy gives:
- Purchase records survive. They are kept as long as needed for refunds, tax and dispute resolution — a receipt you can no longer prove is a refund you can no longer get.
- Backups may hold a copy of your data for up to 30 days after deletion, because a backup you can edit is not a backup.
Your other rights
You may also ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to object to how it is used, or to complain to a regulator. Same address: support@broadside.au.
